Abortionist Moves!
Sharonville
In January Healthy Beginnings learned that the abortionist who had been in Clifton for many years, Martin Haskell, had moved his office to Sharonville. We had been positioned across the street from his Clifton office for seven years, in the office of the Women’s Center for Health, Hope and Healing, providing ultrasounds for women who were struggling with the thoughts of having an abortion. There were 70 women we know of who chose life for their babies last year alone because we were there for them…to show them the truth about the life they were carrying.
Now, with the help of Liberty Sharonville Pediatrics, Pregnancy Care of Cincinnati and several churches in the area we have been able to set up an intervention center in the building right next to Dr. Haskell in Sharonville. The local churches have trained sidewalk educators who are in the parking lot of the pediatric office kindly offering help to the women going in for an abortion. If they accept the offer, there is a client educator from Pregnancy Care of Cincinnati waiting in the pediatric office to help them talk through their issues. If they agree to an ultrasound, our sonographer, Pam West is called to provide that service. All of these different organizations have come together to help women who are scared and think they have no where to turn, but really they have a whole community to turn to. I have heard many times that it takes a community to raise a child, and in this case, you can actually see that in action.
We still have a lot of work to do because the ideal situation would be to have an ultrasound machine in the pediatric office rather than send them to our office ten minutes away but at the cost of $27,500 we do not have the ability to purchase a new machine. If you have a heart to save babies from abortion, and would like to make this machine a reality, please mark your donation “ultrasound” and send it to Healthy Beginnings at 47 E. Hollister Street, Cincinnati, OH 45219.
HEALTHY BEGINNINGS IS 15 YEARS OLD
April 25, 2008
8,000 babies later, this unique, specialized medical mission for moms in need in Greater Cincinnati, is strong and still expanding. Beginning in 1993, local physicians and health care providers banded together to bridge the gap between those who have medical insurance and those who do not. Women who chose to carry their babies to delivery in the midst of difficult circumstances deserved to be given the very best medical care and respect the faith community could offer. While volunteers go about their work with little fanfare, thousands of women with at risk pregnancies have come through our doors and experienced the early prenatal care so needed, offered without conditions, no matter what their circumstances. The work of so many volunteers reflects the conviction that faith in action can make a difference in our city.
Dr. William Polzin, Medical Director for Healthy Beginnings states,
"As a Christian, I want to use the gifts and abilities God provides me. In this case, it is providing healthcare to pregnant women, in Cincinnati, who find healthcare difficult to access. Expectant women need early prenatal care. Healthy Beginnings focused effort is improving the health of mothers and babies during the earliest and most crucial stage of pregnancy.”
Ultrasound Capital Campaign Completed
Healthy Beginnings is very happy to report that the capital campaign has provided the funding needed to replace all of our aging ultrasound equipment. We have just received a check from the local Knights of Columbus and with a matching grant from the national Supreme Council of the Knights of Columbus, we will purchase the Voluson e ultrasound machine for our Price Hill office on Guerley Road.

In addition, another anonymous foundation gift of $45,000 was received on Monday November 9, which will purchase yet another machine and make it possible to replace the machine we have had to lease. This Voluson e unit will be placed in our Hollister office.
Earlier this year two of these portable machines were bought with the generous donations of our supporters and two generous foundation grants totaling $82,000.
The generosity and support of the Greater Cincinnati community for this medical mission and ultrasound outreach ministry has been unbelievable! In little more than one year a total of $163,000 has been raised and the entire ultrasound system replaced.
Thank you to all of our supporters and their more than generous gifts.
THANK YOU TO OUR MANY, MANY SUPPORTERS OVER THE YEARS.
